Marathon Strategies’ Meet The Freshmen guide provides a digestible, nonpartisan, need-to-know overview of the positions that incoming members of the House and Senate have taken on issues involving gun safety; big tech & data privacy; economy, jobs & taxes; healthcare & social safety net; climate change, energy & environment; immigration & border security; Supreme Court & government institutions; reproductive rights; crime & public safety; education; and foreign policy.
This guide uses publicly available sources, including statements from each candidate’s campaign website, candidate questionnaires, social media posts, debates, interviews, and news reports, to provide a broad overview of where the new members stand on these issues. Photographs of each candidate were obtained through their campaign websites, social media accounts, and elected-office websites.
New members included in this guide are based on races called by The Associated Press, National Election Pool/Edison Research, and the Cook Political Report.
