ON THE ISSUES

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS:

SBA Pro-Life America endorsed Moore, describing him as a “rock-solid vote to advance the cause of life.” [v] On his campaign website, Moore touts his “100% pro-life voting record,” says he believes in life “from the moment of conception to the moment of natural death,” and pledges to “work to end the tragedy of abortion.” [vi]

IMMIGRATION & BORDER SECURITY:

Moore argues “a nation without a border is not a nation,” and described the Biden administration’s immigration policy as “criminal.” He supports finishing the border wall and empowering law enforcement “with the authority necessary to send illegal immigrants back.” [vii]

ECONOMY & JOBS:

Moore has warned of automation replacing US jobs and advocated for investing in the aviation and aerospace industries. [viii] [ix] He supports re-shoring US supply chains and incentivizing non-college career paths. He has argued that the US needs to raise tariffs on Chinese steel and limit technological exports to China. [x] [xi]

TAXES:

In an October 2021 op-ed, Moore argued that the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act “produced the best economy America has seen in a generation.” [xii]

CRIME & PUBLIC SAFETY:

Moore opposes defunding the police, arguing that “in the summer of 2020 we saw the chaos that follows when police aren’t allowed to do their jobs.” [xiii] [xiv]

CLIMATE CHANGE, ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT:

Moore’s campaign platform argues that fossil fuels “power America’s economy and provide high quality jobs to West Virginians.” He pledges to “stand up for our coal and gas industries,” and decries “woke corporations and ESG.” [xv] As Treasurer, in February 2024, he sent notices to six financial institutions warning them of potential inclusion on West Virginia’s Restricted Financial Institution List after determining that they appeared to be boycotting fossil fuel companies. [xvi] He opposed the Inflation Reduction Act. [xvii]

FOREIGN POLICY:

Moore cites the development of crypto and digital assets as a key national security issue, arguing that “rather than deferring to countries like Russia and China, we need regulatory frameworks that promote American values and foster this emerging industry.” [xviii] He has also argued that China is the “greatest threat to the continued security and prosperity of the United States,” adding, “unleashing American energy is critical in that fight.” [xix] He has also called Israel “our strongest friend and ally in the Middle East,” and said, “America will always stand with Israel and its people.” [xx] He opposes the boycott, divestment, and sanctions movement. [xxi]

HEALTHCARE & SOCIAL SAFETY NET:

Moore has indicated opposition to the Affordable Care Act. [xxii]

DEMOCRACY:

In 2023, Moore decried the Colorado Supreme Court’s move to disqualify Trump from the 2024 ballot. [xxiii] He has claimed that Democrats fought “tooth and nail” to “keep illegals on the voter rolls” in Virginia. [xxiv]

SOCIAL ISSUES:

In a February 2024 interview, Moore said he supports a ban on transgender surgery for minors, arguing “I think it’s child abuse.” He also said he would support legislation to eliminate the US Department of Education, arguing there is a “massive culture of indoctrination right now in the public education system.” [xxv]
