ON THE ISSUES

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS:

Hageman believes that “the most basic fundamental right we all hold is the right to life.” She believes life begins at conception and that “there is no justification for refusing to protect these precious lives,” further asserting that “abortion will one day be remembered as a grave stain on American history.” In Congress, Hageman commits to “strongly support” laws that protect life.[v] She called the overturning of Roe v. Wade “a literal life-saving victory for millions of unborn babies.”[vi]

ECONOMY, JOBS & TAXES:

Hageman has strongly criticized the “irresponsible spending” by Democrats in Congress, arguing it has created an “inflationary spiral.” She asserts the US “experienced the best economy in decades thanks to the Trump Tax Cuts and Jobs Act,” and that reversing any of the policies is “morally wrong.” In Congress, Hageman commits to fighting “any efforts to raise taxes” and will focus on cutting federal spending and taxes.[vii]

HEALTHCARE & SOCIAL SAFETY NET:

As a 2018 gubernatorial candidate, Hageman said her efforts to improve healthcare in Wyoming “would start with reducing the regulatory burden on doctors, hospitals and health insurance companies.” She argued that excessive healthcare regulations increases cost to the consumer, and that the ACA “stifled innovation and decreased access” to healthcare. She supports expanding nursing programs to improve access to “quality and affordable care,” and believes all telemedicine care should be reimbursed by private and government payers.[viii] Hageman has strongly opposed vaccine mandates, calling them “tyrannical and illegal.”[ix] [x]

IMMIGRATION & BORDER SECURITY:

Hageman argues there is “an undeniable crisis at our southern border” and that the Biden administration “refuse[s] to do anything about it.” She asserts that “every day that we fail to stop drugs, human trafficking, and hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens flooding across our border, we are destroying our country’s sovereignty and squandering the future for our children and grandchildren.” She praised Trump’s border policies, claiming they reduced “human misery.”[xi]

CRIME & PUBLIC SAFETY:

Hageman argues the Biden administration has created a “crime crisis” with “soft on crime policies.”[xii] She criticized the FBI following its August 2022 raid of Mar-A-Lago, calling it “political persecution.”[xiii] She asserted that the Biden administration’s inaction on the US “crime wave” is “dangerous,” further stating she believes in law and order.[xiv]

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS & ELECTION SECURITY:

Hageman believes “free and fair elections are the foundation of our Republic," and that over the past two years, “we’ve seen Democrats chip away at this foundation, changing and altering election rules.” She asserts the US must end “things such as blindly mailing ballots, often to millions of registered voters who did not ask for them, without accountability or a proper chain of custody.”[xv] She called the January 6 investigative committee “political persecution.”[xvi] She supports “deregulating the administrative state,” arguing that Congress needs to curtail the power of federal agencies.[xvii]

EDUCATION:

Hageman opposes critical race theory being taught in schools, calling it “radical, anti-American propaganda.” She supports parental choice in education and has criticized “radical teachers’ unions” for their support of CRT.[xviii] [xix]

CLIMATE CHANGE, ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT:

In Congress, Hageman commits to “always support and fight for energy independence and to protect our oil, gas and coal industries.” She has criticized policies and actions taken by the Biden administration, including blocking pipeline construction and “trying to destroy our coal industry.”[xx] She has accused Democrats of “seeking to block any project that is intended to lower the cost of energy for consumers.”[xxi] She opposes the Green New Deal.[xxii]

BIG TECH & DATA PRIVACY:

Hageman believes “Big Tech Censorship is a threat to the First Amendment,” and commits to reining in “Big Tech tyrants in Silicon Valley” while in office.[xxiii]

GUN SAFETY:

Hageman believes the Second Amendment “is one of the most fundamental rights in America” and that “the authority to protect yourself and your family must never be infringed.” In Congress, she commits to “always fight to protect our Second Amendment.”[xxiv] She has called bump stock bans “ridiculous” and holds an “A” rating with the NRA.[xxv] [xxvi]

FOREIGN POLICY:

Hageman supports banning “Communist China from buying American farmland” and was highly critical of Liz Cheney’s alleged financial ties with China.[xxvii] [xxviii] In Congress, Hageman commits to standing up “for our own people and not the Communist Chinese government.”[xxix]
