ON THE ISSUES

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS:

Luttrell is “100% pro-life,” according to his campaign website.[vii] He says he will “always fight to protect innocent life and defend the unborn.”[viii] He supported the Texas heartbeat bill signed into law by Governor Abbot, which prohibits abortion “from the moment a fetal heartbeat is detectable.” Regarding the bill, he said, “Texas stands for life and it’s time Washington followed our example.”[ix] Luttrell also supports the Hyde Amendment and preventing “tax dollars from funding abortions.”[x]

ECONOMY, JOBS & TAXES:

In office, Luttrell says he will “fight for economic opportunity and against government spending,” as well as “control inflation and bring our economy back.”[xi] [xii] To address rising inflation, Luttrell will work to stop “runaway government giveaways and spending.” He supports “tightening the federal budget” and believes that “a straightforward energy policy that leads us back to energy independence stabilize our economy.”[xiii] He further supports keeping taxes “as low as possible,” as well as limiting government overreach and a free market.[xiv] [xv]

HEALTHCARE & SOCIAL SAFETY NET:

Luttrell asserts his community is “blessed to have some of the finest medical institutions in the country in our district.” He argues that “Free market policies will help to spread that expertise and accessibility down and into the district,” adding that he is “deeply committed to improving veteran health care – both quality and access.”[xvi] Luttrell believes “we need to bring down healthcare costs.”[xvii]

IMMIGRATION & BORDER SECURITY:

In office, Luttrell says he will “fight for hard-hitting immigration reform that has teeth.”[xviii] He praised the Trump administration’s border policies and supports finishing the southern border wall. He argues the US is “facing the worst border crisis we’ve ever seen” under the Biden administration, citing “the flow of illegal immigration, drugs, and human trafficking.”[xix] [xx] [xxi] [xxii]

CRIME & PUBLIC SAFETY:

Luttrell “unequivocally and unapologetically” supports law enforcement.[xxiii] He strongly opposes defunding the police, calling it a “dangerous” movement, adding, “it should come as no surprise that in cities where the police have been defunded, crime is up, and more people are being harmed and exploited.”[xxiv] [xxv]

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS & ELECTION SECURITY:

Stopping “all voter fraud” is a top priority to Luttrell.[xxvi] In Congress, he says he will “crack down on voter fraud and make sure that every legitimate voter’s ballot is counted.”[xxvii] He has criticized Democratic calls for a “sweeping election overhaul that would strip ballot security laws across our nation & federally take over our election.”[xxviii]

EDUCATION:

Luttrell argues education “is a state and local issue” and that the “federal government should not be involved in education.”[xxix] He strongly opposes teaching Critical Race Theory in schools, calling it “radical classroom indoctrination.” In Congress, Luttrell says he will “work to support our teachers and students and get the focus back on education and off the radical agenda.”[xxx] [xxxi]

CLIMATE CHANGE, ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT:

Luttrell believes that "a straightforward energy policy that leads us back to energy independence," will stabilize the economy.[xxxii] He argues policies pursued by Biden and the “radical left” will “decimate the domestic energy industry and put hundreds of thousands of Texans out of work.”[xxxiii]

BIG TECH & DATA PRIVACY:

Luttrell argues that "if we don't address the lack of cyber security awareness inside of our country, we will lose.”[xxxiv] He has further stated that “censorship of social media unacceptable,” and that “we should be able to practice free speech online without fear of censorship or being ‘cancelled.’”[xxxv] [xxxvi]

GUN SAFETY:

Luttrell is a staunch supporter of the Second Amendment and says that “on my watch, the 2nd Amendment shall not be infringed upon.”[xxxvii] [xxxviii] He holds an “AQ” rating with the NRA and is endorsed by the guns rights group.[xxxix]

FOREIGN POLICY:

Luttrell argues that we need to address “the danger we face from China,” and has said “China is not our friend.”[xl] [xli]
