On the Issues

REPRODUCTIVE RIGHTS:

Ciscomani is “proudly pro-life” and opposes abortion, with limited exceptions for cases of rape, incest, and when the mother’s life is in danger.[v] [vi] He applauded the US Supreme Court’s “historic” Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade.[vii] Ciscomani opposes federal funding for Planned Parenthood and believes Congress should resist passing a “one-size-fits-all” abortion law, preferring to allow each state to “pass laws that reflect their state’s shared values.”[viii] [ix]

ECONOMY, JOBS & TAXES:

Ciscomani argues that the Biden administration “remains completely out of touch” when it comes to soaring inflation, the rising cost of living, and the high prices of groceries and gas.[x] He opposed the Inflation Reduction Act and says the federal government “must stop pouring money into the economy,” which he claims is driving prices up.[xi] [xii] In Congress, he will fight for balanced budgets and “getting Washington spending under control.” Ciscomani will also work to reduce regulations and lower taxes on families and small businesses. He has signed Americans for Tax Reform’s Taxpayer Protection Pledge.[xiii]

HEALTHCARE & SOCIAL SAFETY NET:

Ciscomani has said retirees in his district must have access to “reliable, affordable healthcare.”[xiv]

IMMIGRATION & BORDER SECURITY:

Ciscomani believes the US immigration system is “slow, bureaucratic, expensive, and outdated.”[xv] He advocates for an immigration process that meets the needs of the country’s workforce and believes the Biden administration’s rhetoric and approach to immigration has caused an “unprecedented border crisis.”[xvi] Ciscomani supports a comprehensive, “all-of-the-above” approach to border security, including building the wall, deploying new technologies, and “putting boots on the ground.”[xvii]

CRIME & PUBLIC SAFETY:

Ciscomani has pledged to “back the blue” and stand with police, fire fighters, and all first responders.[xviii] He argues that the Biden administration has “made us less safe and less prosperous” by allowing crime to spike and drugs to pour in across the border.[xix] He opposes legalizing marijuana and has criticized the “Defund the Police” movement.[xx] [xxi] [xxii] While serving as an adviser to Governor Doug Ducey, Ciscomani said most people should be given second chances and that “prison and jail are not always the best solution for certain people.”[xxiii]

GOVERNMENT INSTITUTIONS & ELECTION SECURITY:

Ciscomani opposes efforts to federalize elections that he claims would undermine state laws, automatically register ineligible voters, and use taxpayer money to fund attack ads. In Congress, he will work to ensure that “faith in our elections returns by charting a path forward with common-sense policies,” such as strong voter ID requirements.[xxiv] Ciscomani opposes both the Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act.[xxv]

EDUCATION:

Ciscomani opposes the teaching of Critical Race Theory and would work to ensure schools “teach the good things about America.”[xxvi] [xxvii] He supports school choice and advocates for a federal tax credit program that would help parents pay for private or home school education.[xxviii] [xxix] Ciscomani reportedly sees the Biden administration’s student loan forgiveness policy as “unfair.”[xxx]

CLIMATE CHANGE, ENERGY & ENVIRONMENT:

Ciscomani supports an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy and believes the country’s dependence on foreign sources “must be eliminated.”[xxxi] [xxxii] He argues that the economy could be improved by “unleashing American energy” to ensure “clean, cost effective, and reliable electricity.”[xxxiii] He has criticized funding projects “to force people to drive electric cars.”[xxxiv]

BIG TECH & DATA PRIVACY:

Ciscomani supports regulating social media platforms as providers of information comparable to broadcast news.[xxxv]

GUN SAFETY:

Ciscomani “strongly supports” Second Amendment rights and will “fight against any infringement on an individual’s constitutional right to keep and bear arms,” including universal background checks.[xxxvi] [xxxvii] Ciscomani has been endorsed by the NRA and received an “AQ” rating in 2022.[xxxviii]

FOREIGN POLICY:

Ciscomani believes China is an “increasing threat” to the US. In Congress, he will prioritize bringing jobs back to America and ending the reliance on China.[xxxix] [xl] He has called Russia’s “unprovoked” invasion of Ukraine “utterly unjustifiable” and says it cannot be tolerated.[xli] Ciscomani has called for enforcing and closing loopholes in trade sanctions against Russia and doing “everything we can” to support the Ukrainians – short of sending American troops.[xlii]
